The Many Slices of L.E.M.O.N.

THIS POST WAS WRITTEN BY SIMON AND HAS ALREADY APPEARED IN THE WORMHOLE  …

“Many people have asked us (and when I say many, I mean none) how did we come up with L.E.M.O.N.? Did you think you needed a Linguistically Enhanced Mobile Operations Network and then you conveniently discovered the acronym for it would be LEMON? Or did you think LEMON would be a funny name for a robot and then you worked out some sci-fi sounding nonsense? We’ll let you decide. And whilst you decide, why not take a look at some of the LEMON artwork we came up with along the way?

We always wanted LEMON to have a Phillipe Starck look about him. This kitchen appliance was clearly an influence.

Here are some other versions that happened along the way; starting with an early version by Trev

Peter Guinness, who appears in Episode Two as the terrifying Dr Scarifium, did this zesty L.E.M.O.N. for us.

Our final L.E.M.O.N. was drawn for us by the wonderful Lee Sullivan.

Here’s one of his earlier versions:

We decided we’d like Lemon to be less Lemon-coloured,  and here’s our final L.E.M.O.N!
